A permit was issued earlier this week for a two-story residential building with a masonry facade at 6332 S Champlain Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The proposed project’s owner is listed as Greenline Development Inc. The permit details state that there will be two units with a basement and a detached two-car garage at the rear of the building site. The construction will replace an existing structure.
Developer Related Midwest has transferred the land title of a portion of The 78 mega-development to the University of Illinois for the construction of the Discovery Partners Institute. The transfer gives the university control of an acre of land near the intersection of S Wells Street and W 15th Street to begin the first phase of the education facility. The project being developed by the university features a bold design by globally-renowned design firm OMA.

The triangular parcel is located at 2419 N Lincoln Avenue, situated prominently at the three-way intersection of Lincoln Avenue, Halsted Street, and Fullerton Parkway. The proposed project’s owner is listed as Chicagoland Home Investors LLC. The scope of the project details six units with balconies planned for the front of the building. Plans indicate the presence of a five-foot-tall wooden fence, a trash enclosure, and a six-vehicle parking pad at the rear of the building site. The lot is currently vacant.
Foundation work is progressing on HUGO, LG Development‘s two-building development located at 751 N Hudson Avenue and 411 W Chicago Avenue in River North. The two nine-story buildings will be nearly adjacent to one another, separated by an existing low-rise masonry building. Combined, the mixed-use edifices will span 230,000 square feet, occupied by 19,000 square feet of mercantile space and 227 apartments.
