A construction permit has been issued for a new residential project situated at 6500 S Maryland Avenue in Woodlawn. The development, owned by Jack Properties LLC, will be a three-story, three-unit residential masonry building.
The project’s architectural design is credited to Charles E. Schwartz. The design will incorporate open rear steel decks, an egress stair, a concrete patio, and a three-vehicle concrete parking pad. Further details of the design remain undisclosed as of this time, with no available renderings or drawings online.
The site’s location is in proximity of several public transit options. Closest bus service can be found for Route 4 within a single block’s walking distance to Cottage Grove & 65th Street. Other stops can be found in the area for Routes 5, 63, 67, and 95. The Green Line’s Cottage Grove stop, meanwhile, is a five-minute walk north.
The appointed general contractor for the project is Crown Construction Company. The projected cost for the construction is reported to be $350,000. As of the time of reporting, an anticipated completion date for this residential project has yet to be announced.
