New Photos and Visualizations Show Future Impact of Wolf Point South on Downtown Core

YIMBY has image updates for the future 813-foot-tall Wolf Point South in River North after providing permit updates earlier this week. The 58-story office tower at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza will be the third and final installation of River North’s Wolf Point complex. A recent photo captured the caissons, concrete, and rebar beginning to form a portion of the footprint. Despite a single mobile crane currently occupying the site, freestanding crane permits have been approved, with installation likely imminent as foundation work continues.

Located between N Wood Street and N Paulina Street, the interior lot is less than a 20-minute walk north to the Division CTA L station, serviced by the Blue Line. NBM Ventures LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting $752,100 as the cost for the overall development.

Located at the intersection of W Grand Avenue and N Hermitage Avenue, the corner lot takes up the majority of the city block. The nearest CTA L station is Ashland, serviced by the Green and Pink Lines. Within two blocks is the Grand and Paulina station, serviced by the 65 bus route. Volo Holdings LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting a cost of $1,284,400 for each of the parcels.

YIMBY has a progress report on the 41-story residential development at 369 W Grand Avenue, with a 449-foot-tall tower that recently topped out in southwest corner of the River North neighborhood. The property is a longer-rectangle shape at the southwest corner of W Grand Avenue and N Orleans Street. The site also lies near three bus routes, including a two-minute walk west to Route 65’s Grand & Kingsbury, as well as a one-minute walk east to Route 37 and Route 125’s Orleans & Grand. Nearby CTA L access includes a seven-minute walk southeast to Merchandise Mart Station, which is serviced by the Brown and Purple Lines. Notable nearby locations also include Merchandise Mart, Chicago’s largest building, and a major restaurant scene beginning around two blocks east.

The new office building will help extend the density along the river inland toward River North’s center. Nearby public transportation includes the adjacent Illinois & LaSalle stop along Route 65 and Route 156, as well as the three-minute walk southwest to Wells & Hubbard along Route 37 and Route 125. CTA L transit access also involves a three-minute walk southwest to Merchandise Mart Station, along the Brown and Purple Lines.

River North’s One Chicago Square is Now One-Third Complete

YIMBY checked on the construction of One Chicago Square, a 2.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development in River North. With the taller east tower reaching its 28th of 74 floors, and the shorter west tower reaching its 15th of 49 floors, both towers now stand close to their respective one-third marks. Additionally, the facade on the taller tower has been installed up to its 16th floor.
