Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development At 1043 N Rush Street In Near North Side

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a new mixed-use building at 1043 N Rush Street in the Near North Side. Located just north of the intersection with E Oak Street, across the street from the wedge-shaped Mariano pocket park, the project replaces a similar existing structure holding the famed Carmine’s restaurant. Attempting to sell the property since 2015, developer L3 Properties recently bought it with plans to increase the overall active square footage on the site.

New Permits Issued for 1938 N Sawyer Avenue in Logan Square

Construction permits were issued this past week for a new two-story frame duplex along with a detached frame garage at 1938 N Sawyer Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been listed as Karli Mayher, and it’s been indicated that the garage will also include a roof deck. The lot is currently occupied by a frame structure. This is a sister build to a forthcoming build located at 1940 N Sawyer Avenue which we previously reported is led by the same team.

Chicago YIMBY Speaks With The Architects Of 43Green Phase II In Bronzeville

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 301 E 43rd Street in Bronzeville. Dubbed 43Green Phase II, the project comes after the completion and success of the first phase west of the CTA tracks. Replacing a one-story commercial building on the site, developers P3 Markets and The Habitat Company have teamed up with Moody Nolan and Landon Bone Baker Architects on the design of the new structure. Facade Underway for Inspire West Town at 1140 W Erie Street

Extensive facade Installation can be seen for an eight-story mixed-use development known as “Inspire West Town,” located at 1140 W Erie Street in the West Town neighborhood. Bond Companies is the developer behind the project, which will provide both ground-level commercial space and 113 total apartments. There will be both on- and off-site affordable housing, with six on-site units and 17 that are being subsidized elsewhere in the vicinity. Unit sizes will fall between one- and three-bedrooms, with overhanging private balconies attached to select units.
