A three-story, six-unit apartment building is progressing at 3930 N Janssen Avenue in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood. The City of Chicago issued its New Construction permit on October 25, 2023. Being built by developer and general contractor Barrett Homes, the residences will include porches and balconies at the rear on all three levels and a roof-top deck. A detached six-car garage will also be topped with a roof deck.

When reached for comment, Barrett Homes owner Mike Barrett had this to say about 3930 North Janssen:
“3930 N Janssen will be a 6 unit luxury condo development delivering at the end 2024. This lot is 62.5 by 183 allowing for extra wide and extra long units.“Barrett Homes is actively expanding its footprint in Chicago, with several noteworthy projects in the North Center neighborhood and beyond. These include three single-family home developments at 1848 and 1850 W. Cuyler and another at 3905 N. Leavitt. Additionally, they are constructing 32 luxury rental units at 4102 N. Sheridan and upscale condos at 1906 Halsted St. in Lincoln Park. These projects underscore Barrett Homes’ commitment to enhancing Chicago’s residential landscape with high-quality housing options.”

Residents of 3930 North Janssen will live within three blocks of stops for the CTA’s #9 and X9 Ashland, 80 Irving Park, and 22 Clark buses. The Irving Park Brown Line elevated platform is about a half-mile walk to the west.

Barret Homes seems build nice things. I know it obviously should be considering they target only high end. But I still appreciate it
