The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for a four-story, ten-unit residential building located at 5114 South Kenwood Avenue in Hyde Park. The permit was issued on May 22. It covers the full building construction, including outdoor parking spaces, an occupied rooftop, a trash enclosure, and fencing.
The total fee for the permit is $23,468.71, which includes a building fee of $13,256.71, a zoning fee of $812.00, and other fees totaling $9,400.00. All fees have been paid in full. The reported cost of construction is $4,536,000.00.
The owner of the property is listed as ZSD Kenwood LLC. They are working with local architect Mark Peters.
When complete, 5114 South Kenwood Avenue will be located steps from stops for the 2, 15, and 172 bus lines. Beyond that, the 51st/53rd Street/Hyde Park Metra Station, which services the Electric District Train, will be nine minute walk from the property.
