A new construction permit has been issued for a 700-square-foot, two-story accessory building located at 2925 West Belden Avenue in Palmer Square. The permit, which was issued on May 20, allows for the construction of a coach house containing an accessory dwelling unit, a three-vehicle garage, and a 256-square-foot covered porch.

The accessory building will be located in the rear of an existing two-story, VA frame, two-dwelling unit residential building with a basement. The permit specifies that the work is limited to the coach house only.

The permit was issued under the self-certification program. The architect listed on the permit is Samuel Pavlovcik, who is based in Chicago. The total cost of the project is reported to be $75,000, with fees paid totaling $2,688. This includes $2,300 in building fees, $75 in zoning fees, and $313 in other fees.

2925 West Belden Avenue is located a short walk from bus service for Routes 56, 74, and 94. It is also a short walk from the California CTA station, which services the Blue Line.

  1. Why is this project worth an article? Is the development news that bad that this is what needs to fill the feed?

  2. We need more ADUs! Excited that this is being built
