Construction progress can be seen for the single-story addition at the former site of the iconic Al’s Beef Restaurant, situated at 169 W Ontario Street in River North. The existing single-story masonry building was home to the famed restaurant from 1985 to 2020. YIMBY reported on the initial foundation work in December 2021.

Structural steel has reached its pinnacle for the frontmost section of “The Porter,” a five-story mixed-use building rising at 2411 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. Having replaced a privately-owned park at the three-way intersection of Lincoln Avenue, Halsted Street, and Fullerton Avenue, the scheme by Mike Breheny involves 3,700 square feet of retail, a 1,700 square-foot covered patio, and 36 for-rent apartments above.
Initial foundation permits have been issued at 1800 W Berenice Avenue in North Center. The development is led by Landrosh Development and is located at the intersection of N Ravenswood and W Berenice Avenues. The property was approved in March of 2021 for a zoning conversion from B2-1.5 to B2-3.
A new permit has been issued for a new three-story residential building located at 1405 W Juneway Terrace in the Rogers Park neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as Sheridan Mini Towers LLC and plans indicate this plan will yield three total units, a basement, and a detached, four-vehicle garage.
