Caisson and other foundation work continues for the 43-story 906 W Randolph Street, which will dramatically alter Fulton Market District‘s skyline when complete. Set to stand 495 feet in West Loop, the new edifice has been planned by Tucker Development alongside Related Midwest.
The Chicago Parks District has opened a new visitor and nature center at Big Marsh Park in South Deering. Located at 11555 S Stony Island Avenue, the new center marks a major milestone for the South Side park with a 297-acre size that rivals Grant Park and is one of the largest properties in the urban park district.
A construction permit was issued this week for a new three-story multi-unit residential building at 4906 S St Lawrence Avenue in Grand Boulevard. According to the filing information submitted by the owner Kalos Group Development LLC, the development will come with three total units and a three-car garage in the rear.
New revised plans have been revealed for a life-science development at 400 N Elizabeth Street in the West Loop. Developer Mark Goodman & Associates presented the plans for the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed tower to the West Loop Community Organization last week. In the meeting they exemplified their collaboration with the neighbors of nearby lofts buildings and the Chicago Department of Transportation among others that led to the updated design.
Last week, Chicago YIMBY highlighted new plans for a Guinness brewery conversion of the former Pennsylvania Railroad terminal building at 375 N Morgan Avenue in Fulton Market District. Now, demolition has kicked off for the building’s non load-bearing walls as its outer shell undergoes replacement. The project is being co-developed by Guinness and Fred Latsko, and will involve the adaptive re-use of the existing masonry structure, alongside the construction of a new 33-story tower adjacently west.
