A demolition permit was issued on June 27 to tear down a single-story masonry building at 2341 West St Paul Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood. That demolition will clear space for a pair of multi-unit residential buildings that were permitted separately back in May. Tir Conaill Concrete is named as the demo contractor, at a reported cost of $25,000.

The first permit for new construction was issued to 2343 West St Paul on May 12. The second permit came through on May 21. Each calls for a three-story with basement, two-unit residence. The entity of 2341-43 W Saint Paul Ave LLC is named as the developer, with 360 Design Studio drawing up the plans and V & M Development in charge of general contracting duties. There will be roof decks and porches on both homes, and each will have a two-car garage on the alley at the rear or the lot. Another alley next to the buildings will allow access to the east-west alley and the garages.

While the reported construction costs differ slightly, they are both about $760,000. With four levels in each structure containing two residential units apiece, it is anticipated these will be for-sale condominiums.

Routes 72, 49, and X49 make stops two blocks south at Western and North Avenues. The Route 56 bus is available along Milwaukee Avenue three blocks east. The Western Blue Line elevated train platform is about three blocks north.
