The project is located at the intersection of N Milwaukee Avenue and W Cullom Avenue, on a corner lot. The nearest public transportation is the 56 CTA bus, accessed at the Milwaukee and Cullom stop, located directly across the street from the site. The Montrose CTA L station, serviced by the Blue Line, is a 15-minute walk from the property. Mega Group is in charge of the development under Finney Building LLC.
Emergency demolition permits have been issued for a two-story residential frame building at 4229 W Maypole Avenue in West Garfield Park. The City of Chicago owns the property, which appears to have been vacant prior to its slated demolition. However, the exact nature of the reason for demolition was not specified.
The inner core portion has reached roof height for 1400 Monroe, the seven-story residential building at 1404 W Monroe Street, developed by JK Equities. Permits were been issued earlier this summer, with construction since progressing rapidly on the West Loop project, comprising 42 condominium units.
