In West Loop Gate, two office buildings located at 10 and 120 S Riverside Plaza continue to undergo renovations as part of a larger repositioning project. These two structures, each rising 21 stories, collectively offer 1.4 million square feet of space with 37,000-square-foot floor plates. With SOM as the original architect behind both structures, 10 S Riverside Plaza was constructed in 1965, while 120 S Riverside Plaza was completed in 1967.

Permit Application Submitted For 566 W Van Buren Street In West Loop Gate

Construction permits have been applied for with the city for the mixed-use development at 566 W Van Buren Street in West Loop Gate. Sitting on the corner with S Jefferson Street, the project was first announced last year when it received permits for and proceeded with the demolition of two building’s on the site. The Antunovich Associates-designed structure is being proposed by a team made up of Riverside Investment and Blue Star Properties.

Clinton Street Entrance Reopens At Union Station

The long shuttered Union Station entrance along S Clinton Street has reopened ahead of extensive work around the structure. Located at 225 S Canal Street near the river, the massive station house has seen a long string of renovations as Amtrak works on restoring one of the nation’s busiest hubs. The entrance itself reopened earlier this week after being closed for over 40 years, finally providing western access to the building.
