A permit was issued earlier this week for a new three-story residential building at 1946 S Desplaines Street in Lower West Side. The owner is listed as Lochomes LLC. The new construction plans for the project include three units, a rear porch, and a detached three-vehicle garage. The project will be replacing a vacant lot.

Stern Group Architects is listed as the architect of record for the project. There are no publicly available renderings or concept art at the time of this writing. It’s unclear if this will be a masonry build or a frame build.

Both Routes 8 and 62 can be found and boarded via a seven-minute walk west to the Halsted and Cullerton stop. The property is near various retail, dining, and bar options which can be found along S Canalport Avenue and W 18th Street.

Fargo Group LLC will also serve as the general contractor for the roughly $450,000 project. No timeline has been given for the completion of this development.
