Plans for a new mixed-use development at 3611 North Halsted Street in Lake View East are moving forward, as the local alderwoman has expressed her support. Dubbed The Phoenix, the project will replace a vacant lot just north of the intersection with West Addison Street. Having been announced just over a month ago, it has now received backing from Alderwoman Clay.
The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use redevelopment of the former Leon Hotel at 2701 North Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Located at the intersection with West Drummond Place, the former SRO building sits across the street from the similar redevelopment of the Convent Hotel and its recently topped-out rear expansion.

Located at the intersection with West Drummond Place, the proposal sits across the street from the Convent Hotel redevelopment and its rear expansion as well as the recently revised 2600 N Clark. Similar to that project, this plan will redevelop the existing Leon Hotel building.
A townhome development named Madison Park Row is currently under construction on abutting lots in Hyde Park. ZSD Corp, which is also developing condominiums less than half a block away, is building seven townhomes, each including one garage space, on East Hyde Park Boulevard and East Madison Park, on two parcels that back up to each other on parallel streets.
