Inspire Woodlawn Townhomes are under construction in the 6200 block of South Woodlawn Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. Developer KMW Communities is building the Inspire Woodlawn complex, which includes single-family homes that are already built and sold, and six simplex and duplex condominiums that have yet to begin construction. Two of the single-family residences are located right across the street from these townhomes.
The townhomes are being erected under two separate permits. KMW got a new construction permit for 6216 South Woodlawn Avenue on April 12 of this year. The permit allows them to build six three-story homes, with each including attached two-car garages.
Also on April 12, the City of Chicago issued a permit for 6218 South Woodlawn Avenue. That permit allows eight three-story homes, also including attached two-car garages. Both sets of homes are designed by Studio Dwell. Renderings show a shared walkway between the two rows of homes, with patios in front of each unit.
The townhomes of Inspire Woodlawn are located one block from CTA bus service on Route 63. The 63rd Street Metra station, with stops for the Metra Electric and South Shore Line trains, is about five blocks to the east.
