A townhome development named Madison Park Row is currently under construction on abutting lots in Hyde Park. ZSD Corp, which is also developing condominiums less than half a block away, is building seven townhomes, each including one garage space, on East Hyde Park Boulevard and East Madison Park, on two parcels that back up to each other on parallel streets.
A permit issued by the City of Chicago on March 27 of this year called for eight three-story townhomes, contained within four two-unit buildings. One row of four townhomes, referred to as the H Building, is located at 1326-1332 East Hyde Park Boulevard. However, there is a pending permit to reduce that number by one unit. Behind them, a second row of four townhomes, referred to in the permit as the M Building at 1329-1335 East Madison Park, is being built. Driveways will connect the parking garages to the street, and each of the seven units will be topped by private roof decks.
Studio Dwell is the design architect behind the townhomes. And just as they’re doing at the condos around the corner, ZSD Corp is fulfilling general contractor duties as well as being the developer.
Residents of Madison Park Row will find bus service for CTA Routes 2, 15, and 72 within a one-block walk. Four blocks east at Lake Park Avenue is the 51st Street/53rd Street Metra Electric train station, as well as additional bus Routes 6 and 28.
