Construction progress at 2354 North Washtenaw Avenue in Logan Square has reached the underside of the fifth and uppermost floor, as brickwork has made its way up four floors on all sides. This is the neighbor and sibling property of 2357 North Washtenaw, which we visited Thursday. Both projects broke ground in 2024.

Specifications for this building are very similar to what’s being built across the street. Wilmot Properties is again the developer and general contractor, working on a design from Hanna Architects. This will also be a five-story building, with 20 apartments and its counterpart on the east side of Washtenaw will deliver 15 units. The two developments occupy the south corners of Washtenaw Avenue and Fullerton Parkway. The ground floor will contain retail space and a parking garage with 17 stalls, with a roof deck covering a portion of the garage. All four upper floors will have balconies.

For public transit options, the Route 74 Fullerton bus has stops within a block of the construction site, and for north-south travel, the Route 94 bus stops one block west on California Avenue. A three-block walk south on Washtenaw leads to stops for the Route 56 bus on Milwaukee Avenue. The closest elevated train access is at the California Blue Line platform, about three blocks southwest.

  1. Great to see these large lots getting in fill

  2. Love that they are building this. I will always propose going 2 stories higher but I’m fine with the height. This place is right by multiple bus stops and a block away from the blue line. What was the need for
So many parking if that could have been a ground unit?
