Residential construction has been approved for new homes at 4217 South Indiana Avenue in the Bronzeville neighborhood. Keaney Construction Group and affiliate Red Van Construction applied for a permit on April 14 of this year, and it came through on October 8 with a reported cost of $420,000.
Plans have been revealed for the residential redevelopment of four vacant lots at 3736 to 3766 South Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville. Located just south of the intersection with East 37th Place, the property has been vacant for over two decades, near Guaranteed Rate Field. The project is being led by Capricorn Design + Build LLC.
A three-story three-flat has been permitted for construction at 4331 South Indiana Avenue in the Bronzeville neighborhood. Applied for on March 18th, the permit came through on May 23rd with Landex Holding Company named as the developer. The reported construction cost with this permit is $420,000.
Additional details have been revealed for the potential Metropolis Pointe development at 2601 S Martin Luther King Drive in Bronzeville. Earlier this year, we provided an in-depth look at the project when it was first introduced by local developer JC Griffin. Griffin is now preparing to finalize the purchase of the site, remaining on track with the previously announced schedule.
Initial details have been revealed for the redevelopment of Olivet Baptist Church, located at 3101 S King Drive in Bronzeville. Situated at the corner of East 31st Street, the historic church was recently in the news for being listed on Preservation Chicago’s 2025 Most Endangered list. However, earlier this week, the church announced its own plans for the site as part of its 175th anniversary celebration.
