A renovation project is underway at a two-story, three-unit residential building located at 4525 S Hermitage Avenue in Back of the Yards. The self-certified project was approved on November 29, following a 195-day development period.
The internal renovations of this residential property are designed to modernize and enhance the living spaces within the building. Peter Erdelyi, a Chicago-based architect, is overseeing the design of the renovation. The owner of the property, Keila Espejel, is also serving as the general contractor.
The project’s budget is estimated to be $105,000, and permit fees totaled $625.00. Residents of 4525 S Hermitage Avenue are located a six-minute walk to the east from bus stops for Route 9. The Western CTA station, which services the Orange Line, is located via a 26-minute walk to the southwest from the property, but provides residents access to both Midway Airport and Downtown Chicago.
