A permit has been issued to property owner Dajuan Robinson for the development of a residential three-flat at 6442 S Evans Avenue in West Woodlawn. The permit, issued on July 24th, details a three-story frame building with no basement, set to replace an empty lot.
The architectural design of the new building is listed as Kathryn C Shahbaz O’Brien. The building will feature 5A construction with a rear wood deck. Additional features include a three-vehicle parking pad that is open to the elements and a fence surrounding the property.
In terms of transit accessibility, the location offers various options. For instance, bus service for Route 4 can be reached with a three-minute walk east to Cottage Grove & 65th Street. In addition, with a 10-minute walk, residents can access several other buses: Routes 5, 67, and 95 are located to the south, while Route 3 is found towards the west. Both the Green Line at Cottage Grove station and Route 63 are situated to the north.
DNA Construction & Consulting has been enlisted as the general contractor for the project, with Dajuan Robinson also serving as the HVAC contractor. The construction project reports a cost of $450,000, though the estimated completion date has yet to be announced.
