Financing has been cleared to move forward for the Congress Theater redevelopment at 2135 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. Located on the intersection with N Rockwell Street, we last covered the project mid-2022 when it originally presented its plans towards financing which includes city financing. Now after various delays developer Baum Revision can move forward with its requests for the Woodhouse Tinucci Architects-designed proposal.

Funding Proposed For Congress Theater Redevelopment In Logan Square

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development has introduced a notion to provide partial funding for the renovation of the long-vacant Congress Theater at 2135 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. Located on the intersection with N Rockwell Street, the historical movie house has been in the process of securing a redevelopment for many years with local developer Baum Revision taking over the property mid-2021, working with Woodhouse Tinucci Architects on the new vision for the city landmark.

New Developer Plans to Break Ground This Year on Congress Theater Redevelopment in Logan Square

A new developer has taken over the Congress Theater redevelopment plan and intends to break ground by the end of the year. Located at 2135 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square, the historic Congress Theater sits at the corner of N Milwaukee Avenue and N Rockwell Street. Baum Revision is the new developer, taking over after the previous developer couldn’t finance the project.
