The city has issued a demolition permit for 1404 North Park Avenue in the Old Town neighborhood. Located currently on the site is a two-story residential building and a detached frame garage, both slated for removal. The property is owned by the Catherine Cook School, which occupies the building across the street.

The estimated cost for the wrecking process is $64,400. As for the replacement, renderings or architectural plans for potential future development have yet to be disclosed.

The location sits just east of the CTA’s elevated tracks, with the Brown and Purple Lines available at Sedgwick station via a six-minute walk northwest. Meanwhile, bus route options 9, 37, 72, and 156 are all offered within a five-minute walk.

National Wrecking Company will manage the demolition process as the general contractor. Neither the school or any of the other involved parties have announced a specific timeline for the demolition.
