A new urban farm construction permit has been issued at 2943 W Fifth Avenue in East Garfield Park.

The project will feature a propagation hoop shed, an outdoor plant area, and bee hives, converting what was previously a vacant lot. Tracy Boychuk is the listed owner of the project, while Branyo Dvorak of Perimeter Architects is the architect of record.

The closest bus options to the site include bus Route 20 via a three-minute walk North to Madison & Sacramento, while bus Routes 52, 94, and 126 are also within a 10-minute walk. For CTA L service, the closest Green Line service can be found at California Station, a nine-minute walk northeast.

LG Construction Group is the appointed general contractor for the project, with the filing reporting a cost of $95,000. No completion date has yet been indicated.
