A new urban farm development construction permit has been issued at 2943 W Fifth Avenue in Garfield Park.
The project will feature a propagation hoop shed, an outdoor plant area, and bee hives, converting the vacant lot into an urban farm space. Tracy Boychuk is the listed owner of the project, while Branyo Dvorak of Perimeter Architects is the architect of record.
Brickwork and metal paneling can now be seen undergoing installation along the two-building development known as Hugo in River North. Developer LG Group has planned for a total of 227 for-rent apartments across nearly 150,000 square feet of total floor area. Both nine stories, the larger edifice at 751 N Hudson Avenue will yield 134 new units while 411 W Chicago Avenue will yield 93 residences. The mixed-use project will also provide approximately 19,000 square feet of ground-level retail space. The two structures are almost adjacent save for an existing two-story building that lies between them.
The exterior walls have been placed for HUGO, a two-building mixed-use project by LG Development in River North. Located at 751 N Hudson Avenue and 411 W Chicago Avenue, the pair of nine-story structures will encompass a total of 230,000 square feet of floor space. This project will bring a total of 227 new apartments to the neighborhood, as well as 19,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The two buildings will be situated close to one another, separated by an existing two-story, masonry low rise.
Number 13 in YIMBY’s year-end countdown is the 27-story mixed-use tower at 1475 N Kingsbury Street, part of Structured Development’s Shops at Big Deahl in Near North Side. At 299 feet in height, the high rise will house a combination of ground-level retail and a total of 327 apartment units.
Work on a new outdoor patio is taking shape at 817 W Lake Street in Fulton Market. Developed by Sancerre Realty, the permanent dining and bar area will accompany the adjacent BLVD Steakhouse directly to the east.
