This past week, Chicago YIMBY toured Foundry at Wendelin Park, a 27-story mixed-use tower at 1475 North Kingsbury Street in Near North Side. Undertaken by Structured Development alongside White Oak Realty Partners, the project encompasses a set of three buildings positioned around the newly opened Wendelin Park, also the namesake of the masterplan (formerly “The Shops at Big Deahl”).
Construction on Wendelin Park (formerly known as The Shops at Big Deahl) Phase 2 in Near North Side is nearing its final stages, as Structured Development’s four-building, $250 million project wraps up exterior facade and landscape work. The first phase of the GREC Architects-designed masterplan, a three-story climbing gym called Movement Lincoln Park, is located at the easternmost end of the property. Meanwhile, this nearly-complete second phase is comprised of a small park and three buildings standing 27, 10, and five stories tall.
Number 13 in YIMBY’s year-end countdown is the 27-story mixed-use tower at 1475 N Kingsbury Street, part of Structured Development’s Shops at Big Deahl in Near North Side. At 299 feet in height, the high rise will house a combination of ground-level retail and a total of 327 apartment units.
Updated renderings have been revealed for the tallest building of the Shops at Big Deahl development at 1475 N Kingsbury Street in the Near North Side. Located directly on the corner with W Blackhawk Street, the tower is part of the multi-structure project that is quickly rising near the Chicago River and Wild Mile park. Developer Structured Development is working with Fitzgerald Associates Architects on its design near the Clybourn Corridor area, with Power Construction executing its build out.
