Facade work is nearing completion for Foundry at Wendelin Park, a 27-story mixed-use tower at 1475 North Kingsbury Street in Near North Side. Led by Structured Development and White Oak Realty Partners, the development features three buildings centered around the recently inaugurated Wendelin Park, the namesake of the broader master plan formerly known as “The Shops at Big Deahl.”
The tower will house 327 market-rate rental units, some offering private terraces and balconies. Ground-level retail spaces are planned, although tenants have yet to be announced. The building’s podium will also include parking for 142 vehicles.
The development’s amenities focus on a terraced outdoor deck that connects the 26th and 27th floors. This deck will include a rooftop pool, seating areas, and a hot tub, complemented by indoor facilities like a fitness center, a business center, and a lounge.
Designed by Fitzgerald Associates Architects, the tower has reached its final height of 299 feet. The building’s massing, made up of various offsets and cutouts, will be clad in a mix of glass and dark bronze metal.
Public transit options are readily accessible, including bus service for Routes 8, 9, and 72 and the CTA L’s Red Line at the North/Clybourn subway station—all within a five-minute walk from the site.
Power Construction has served as general contractor both for the Foundry project and the broader Wendelin Park development. While much of Wendelin Park has already opened to the public, Foundry is expected to begin welcoming residents November 1 this fall.
