As one of Chicago YIMBY’s longest-running projects, final touches are now progressing for the fifth and final building within the West Loop Collection development. Led by POGN Development and located just west of Greektown at 216-236 S Green Street, the residential complex comprises 40 total condominiums divided evenly between the five structures. The four other completed structures have already opened to residents.
Prices range from $1 million for a single-level simplex to $2 million for a duplex penthouse. All condos have nine-foot ceilings and other features such as walk-in closets in the primary bedrooms and kitchens outfitted with Copat Italian cabinetry and large kitchen island.
Light wells are incorporated to increase natural light in the center areas. Balconies are standard for all units, with penthouses featuring 750-square-foot east-facing terraces. A retractable nanawall system connects these outdoor spaces to the interiors.
JEF + Associates designed the quintuplet buildings, which are finished with limestone and brick cladding, glass-railing balconies, and dark metal trimmings. The West Loop Collection provides 40 off-street parking spaces and is located near several public transport options, with the eastbound Route 126 bus service one block away and the westbound service for Route 8 just a two-minute walk away.
For rail transit, the Blue Line at UIC-Halsted station is a five-minute walk south. The Green and Pink Lines are accessible from the Morgan station, a 14-minute walk northwest.
NGL Construction, serving as the general contractor, expects completion by the end of this year.
