A permit was recently issued for a renovation/alteration project at 1242 South Sawyer Avenue in Lawndale. The permit, which underwent standard plan review, was applied for on August 26 and issued on October 25, taking 60 days to process.

The scope of work includes exterior improvements and interior build-out of an existing two-unit masonry residential building. Work involves non-structural interior demolition, removal of an awning and shed, installation of new windows and doors, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and new finishes.

The owner, Carla Sumerlin, paid $1,065.84 in total fees, consisting of $990.84 in building fees and $75 in zoning fees. No fees were waived or remain unpaid. The reported cost of the project is $200,000. Architect James Thompson is behind project designs.
