Structural work has reached its full height for 3501 N Halsted Street, a five-story mixed-use building in Lakeview East. The new facility will serve as a hub for Howard Brown Health, an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support for the LGBTQ community in Chicago.
The scope of this project consists of 7,600 square feet of retail space on the ground level, clinic space on the first and second floors, and three floors of administrative space above. With this project alone, Howard Brown Health will be able to double its current patient and visitor capacity in the area.
The Eckenhoff Saunders Architects-designed exterior will showcase a glass curtain wall combined with different shades of brickwork. The facade will have vertical bays and a top floor setback, providing more space for amenities like terraces.
The project is geared towards those who use public transit, with limited parking on site. Route 8 has bus service directly next to the project site, while the closest CTA Red Line access is a seven-minute walk away at Addison station.
McHugh Construction is the company handling all of the construction for this project, and it is expected to be completed early next year.
