First Of Two Permits Issued For Eight-Unit Buildings At Western And Flournoy In Tri-Taylor

The first of two construction permits has been issued by the City of Chicago for a pair of four-story, eight-unit residential buildings in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood. A demolition permit came through on New Year’s Eve for 701 South Western Avenue, and now permission has been granted to begin the new development, although this first one won’t be on the demolition site, per se.

Demolition Permit At 701 South Western Avenue Might Mean 16 Residential Units Are On The Way

A demolition permit was issued December 31 for a single-story commercial building at 701-709 South Western Avenue in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood. Located on the southeast corner of Western and Flournoy Street on the Near West Side, all five commercial spaces in the building appear to have been unoccupied for quite some time. The teardown directive was issued with B & K Concrete 1 named as the demo contractor, at an estimated cost of $45,000.
