Plans have been revealed for a new residential development at 2411 West Congress Parkway in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood. Located near the intersection with South Western Avenue and across the street from the Eisenhower Expressway, the project would replace a former rectory building previously owned by the Catholic Bishop of Chicago and used for youth outreach.

Construction Progresses On Twin Flournoy Street Residential Buildings In Tri-Taylor

A pair of low-rise residential buildings are progressing at 2351 and 2355 West Flournoy Street in the Near West Side’s Tri-Taylor neighborhood. Though they were permitted separately, the two buildings have identical specifications as four-story plus basement structures with eight dwelling units apiece. 2351 West Flournoy was permitted first, on January 13th, with 2355 West Flournoy following nine weeks later on March 19. Both applications were filed back in 2022.

Second Permit Means 2355 West Flournoy Can Get Started Next To 2351 In Tri-Taylor

The second of two construction permits has been issued by the City of Chicago for a pair of four-story, eight-unit residential buildings in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood. The first permit, addressed as 2351 West Flournoy Street, was permitted for construction on January 13. The later one, for 2355 West Flournoy Street, came through on March 19. Both permit applications show filing dates of December 21, 2022, with a reported cost just under $2 million.

The three-story building has a basement level, so it’s natural to assume the Additional Dwelling Unit will be built downstairs, but the permit does not specify that. RY National, Inc is named as the general contractor, with the permit indicating a cost of $50,000 for work performed.
