Construction Permit Issued For 801 South Western Avenue In Tri-Taylor

The construction permit has been granted for a residential development in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood we told you about last month. The permit was issued on January 3 for 801 South Western Avenue, allowing 4Corners Real Estate to build a five-story, 36-unit building with 18 outdoor parking spaces and ground-floor retail. 4Corners will be their own general contractor, at an estimated construction cost of $500,000, according to the permit, which shows an application date of July 16, 2024.

First Of Two Permits Issued For Eight-Unit Buildings At Western And Flournoy In Tri-Taylor

The first of two construction permits has been issued by the City of Chicago for a pair of four-story, eight-unit residential buildings in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood. A demolition permit came through on New Year’s Eve for 701 South Western Avenue, and now permission has been granted to begin the new development, although this first one won’t be on the demolition site, per se.

Located on the southeast corner of Western and Flournoy Street on the Near West Side, all five commercial spaces in the building appear to have been unoccupied for quite some time. The teardown directive was issued with B & K Concrete 1 named as the demo contractor, at an estimated cost of $45,000.
