Another mixed-use conversion is progressing in The Loop as the historical structure at 19 South LaSalle Street has received approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals. Announced a few years back as part of LaSalle Street Reimagined, we most recently covered the project back in January as the building received landmark status.
Partial funding has been approved for the residential conversion and partial redevelopment of the high-rise at 30 North LaSalle Street in The Loop. Sitting on the corner of West Washington Street, the project has been in the works for a few years under the city’s LaSalle Street Reimagined initiative, with updated renderings and information revealed last spring.
Chicago YIMBY sat down with Mike Potter and Stefani Kalter from Riverside Development, one of the developers behind the office-to-residential conversion of the Art Deco skyscraper at 135 South LaSalle Street in The Loop. Riverside has partnered with AmTrust RE and DL3 Realty on the $241 million project, which is set to begin construction in the spring of 2026.
Additional renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use redevelopment of the historic Field Building at 135 South LaSalle Street in The Loop. Following a series of recent conversions that are rapidly increasing the neighborhood’s population, the project has officially received $98 million in TIF funds, approved by City Council earlier this week.
Preliminary landmark recommendations have been approved by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks for two buildings in The Loop, ahead of their residential conversions. Located at 19 South LaSalle Street and 105 West Adams Street, both developments have been in the works for over a year and are part of the city’s LaSalle Street Reimagined initiative.
