Chicago YIMBY sat down with Mike Potter and Stefani Kalter from Riverside Development, one of the developers behind the office-to-residential conversion of the Art Deco skyscraper at 135 South LaSalle Street in The Loop. Riverside has partnered with AmTrust RE and DL3 Realty on the $241 million project, which is set to begin construction in the spring of 2026.
Additional renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use redevelopment of the historic Field Building at 135 South LaSalle Street in The Loop. Following a series of recent conversions that are rapidly increasing the neighborhood’s population, the project has officially received $98 million in TIF funds, approved by City Council earlier this week.
Preliminary landmark recommendations have been approved by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks for two buildings in The Loop, ahead of their residential conversions. Located at 19 South LaSalle Street and 105 West Adams Street, both developments have been in the works for over a year and are part of the city’s LaSalle Street Reimagined initiative.
The Chicago Community Development Commission has initially approved TIF funding for the redevelopment of 105 W Adams Street in The Loop. Located at the corner of South Clark Street and next to the Federal Center, the iconic structure has seen multiple redevelopment attempts over the past few years. Now, Chicago-based Primera Group is moving forward with its plans.
Plans for the partial residential conversion of 30 N LaSalle Street in The Loop, part of the city’s LaSalle Street Reimagined initiative. Now more than two years in the making, the project has been slightly altered and approved by the city’s Permit Review Committee, leaving just final approval of its funding outstanding.
