Updated plans are moving forward for the mixed-use redevelopment of the iconic 135 S LaSalle Street in The Loop. Originally announced as part of the initial LaSalle Street Reimagined proposals, the tiered tower most recently served as the offices of Bank of America before they relocated nearby to the riverfront.
A couple of office buildings have moved one step closer towards their residential conversion centered around LaSalle Street in The Loop. With rising vacancy rates across the city’s central business district, more and more office structures are making the switch to residential.
Zoning has been approved for the residential redevelopment of 79 W Monroe Street in The Loop. Located at the corner of S Clark Street, this proposal is among the first from LaSalle Street Reimagined to receive initial approval. The project is led by R2 Companies and the Campari Group, with Ware Malcomb serving as the designer.
The JW Marriott hotel at 208 S LaSalle Street in The Loop has officially been put up for sale. Located within the historical Continental and Commercial National Bank on the intersection with W Adams Street, the building is also part of the LaSalle Street Reimagined initiative. The sale is being led by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) according to Crain’s.
Additional renderings have been revealed for the residential redevelopment of 208 S LaSalle Street in The Loop. Located on the intersection with W Adams Street, the project is part of the larger LaSalle Street Reimagine initiative which recently received approval. Dubbed The LaSalle Residences, the project is being led by developer The Prime Group.
