The first permit has been issued to begin construction on a seven-story, 91-unit residential development on the northwest corner of North Sheridan and West Irving Park Roads in Uptown. Catapult Real Estate Solutions is the developer and recipient of the permit, which had been pending in the Chicago Data Portal since November 25 of last year. It includes a reported cost of $31.5 million, which seems more likely to be the reported cost of all construction permits rather than just the caissons.

Foundation work is underway to transform three contiguous vacant lots in Uptown into a new residential building. Spanning 936 through 940 West Leland Avenue, an excavator began tearing up the soil on the site this week for a five-story, 32-unit project. D.O.M. Properties is the builder, having received a construction permit in mid-November of last year. The triple lot is on the north side of the dead-end street, east of North Sheridan Road.

The Anderson Nears Its Debut At Clark And Leland In Uptown

Exterior work is nearing completion as The Anderson prepares for its grand opening in May at 4713 North Clark Street in the Uptown neighborhood. There was progress on balconies last week, but the more noticeable efforts were on the garage portion of the building off the alley in the back. It appears they got all brickwork done, with the installation of overhead doors coming soon.

The Carmen, a new-construction apartment building from Chicago Developer DLG Management, is adding its finishing touches ahead of a spring opening. Located on the northeast corner of North Sheridan Road and West Carmen Avenue in Uptown, dwelling units will be open to first tenants on April 1st. The exterior appears 100% complete, likely leaving only a few interior details to be tidied up before people move in.

Plans Approved For Mixed-Use Development In Uptown

Plans have been revealed and approved for a new mixed-use development at 4725 North Clifton Avenue in Uptown. Located at the intersection with North Broadway, the structure will replace part of a large parking lot just north of the historic Uptown Broadway Building. The project is being led by CEDARst Companies, which is best known for its Flats developments.

Sarah’s Circle Pitches Multi-Building Complex In Uptown

Plans have been revealed for the first phase of a new campus for non-profit Sarah’s Circle at 4458 North Clarendon Avenue in Uptown. Bound by West Sunnyside Avenue to the north and West Agatite Avenue to the south, the future complex will replace one of the last remaining lakefront lots across the street from the newly reopened Clarendon Fieldhouse.

Lourdes School Phase Two Approved By City Council

The Chicago City Council has approved a residential development at 4641 North Ashland Avenue in Uptown. Located directly across the street from Chase Park, the project will serve as the second phase of the Lourdes School residential conversion next door. The effort is being led by the same developer, Honore Properties.

The new Foster Date Architects-designed residential building at 4907 North Paulina Street in Uptown continues to dazzle with its brickwork as it nears exterior completion. The four-story structure has long been topped out, and now the majority of the windows are in place, allowing work on the interiors to ramp up.

Lourdes School Residential Expansion Approved By Plan Commission

Continuing the string of updates from this month’s Plan Commission meeting, the commission has approved the second phase of the residential redevelopment and expansion of the Lourdes School in Uptown. Located at 4641 North Ashland Avenue, this second phase will replace a vacant parking lot just north of the former schoolhouse.

Full Building Permit Issued For 936 West Leland In Uptown

A new construction permit was granted by the city on November 12 to complete a residential development at 936 West Leland Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood. Addressed to 940 West Leland, the permit allows West Leland Avenue LLC, an entity registered in Reno, Nevada, to begin work on their five-story building.
