Construction progress, most noticeably the brickwork, has reached the third level of a four-story residential development at 4907 North Paulina Street in the Ravenswood area of Uptown. Masonry work on the exterior is keeping up with the elevation as the building progresses, and brick columns that will support balconies on the upper levels are rising in the courtyard.
Construction progress has reached the top floor for the new residential development at Clark Street and Leland Avenue in Uptown. 4713 North Clark is the work of developer and general contractor Platinum Homes of Lincoln Park. They purchased the lot on the northeast corner and tore down a Byline Bank branch that had been closed for years.
TimeLine Theatre announced through a press release on July 28 that their new home at 5035 North Broadway in Uptown is now 50 percent completed. Slated to open in May 2026, the theatre replaces the former W.C. Reebie & Brother storage building that was demolished (additional theatre renderings are available at that link) last year. In production for well over a decade, the theatre was awarded caisson and full permits back in 2022, but plans changed, with the theatre troupe demolishing more of the warehouse than was their original intent.
Bricks are being salvaged from the former commercial building at Wilson Avenue and Dover Street in Uptown, as the beginning of construction work nears for a new residential development. A permit to get underway was issued back in March, so it is expected the new building will begin post haste once the site is cleaned up completely. Icon Property Management is the developer here, and their construction permit cites a reported construction cost of just over $5 million.
It’s still very early in the construction progress at 4709 North Paulina Street in Uptown, but it’s already showing signs of what its renderings depicted. Masonry work on the front façade of the first floor indicates this will be bricked in as it goes up, highlighting brick and limestone markings on the courtyard-style apartment building and its west-facing bay windows.
