Construction progress has reached the top floor for the new residential development at Clark Street and Leland Avenue in Uptown. 4713 North Clark is the work of developer and general contractor Platinum Homes of Lincoln Park. They purchased the lot on the northeast corner and tore down a Byline Bank branch that had been closed for years.

Located on the northeast corner of Clark Street and Leland Avenue, the five-story, 36-unit building is a creation by 360 Design Studio. They have included an 18-space parking garage to be accessed from the alley off Leland, along with a residential lobby, bike storage, and the building’s office space on the first floor. Apartments on levels two through five will feature balconies facing either east or west, and a small roof deck will sit atop the garage entrance.

Permission to begin construction came through on January 6 of this year, and with it came a reported construction cost of $4.6 million. In addition to their development duties, Platinum Homes is also handling the general contractor role. These will be rental apartments, which they plan to have ready for the first tenants in spring 2026.

Public transit options include the Route 22 bus, which stops right outside the residential lobby, at Leland and Clark. One block south, at Clark and Wilson, are stops for Routes 22 and 78. The 78 bus can be used to connect to the Wilson Red/Purple Line platform about half a mile east. The recently-rerouted Route 9 bus stops two blocks southwest at Ashland and Wilson Avenues.

New housing is always good but especially so close to a park, major bus line, and lots of restaurants and shops. We need another 100 of these across the North Side.
Across the ENTIRE city. Mainly close to main intersections.
