A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 6538 South Rhodes Avenue in West Woodlawn. The permit, which was applied for on June 27 and issued on August 8, allows for the construction of a three-story, three-unit residential building with a slab-on-grade foundation.
The project will include rear wood open egress stairs, a rear concrete parking pad with three spaces, and a new fence. The total fee for the permit is $4,328, with $2,300 paid towards building fees, $150 towards zoning fees, and $1,878 towards other fees. The reported cost of the project is $400,000.
The owner of the property is Mia Jones. The architect for the project is Kathryn Shahbaz. When complete, the property will be a short walk from CTA Stations servicing the Green Line.
