A permit was approved earlier this week for a new three-story residential building at 4750 S Martin Luther King Drive in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. Walton Street Builders Inc is listed as the owner and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with rear steal porches and an egress staircase. The development will be accompanied by a concrete patio and a four-car private masonry garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.
Charles E Schwart is listed as the architect of record for this project. While there aren’t any further details available at this time, the permit states that this is a masonry building.
Transportation is readily accessible with the nearest bus service available for Route 3 at the King Drive & 47th Street stop directly in front of the planned construction. The CTA Green Line can also be found at the 47th station via a four-minute walk northwest. There are several retail, dining, and lodging options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along E 47th Street.
Metropole Holdings LLC will act as the general contractor for the $350,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
