Work is progressing for interior and exterior renovation of the former Medical Center Apartments at 1926 W Harrison Street, now branded as Atrio Apartments.
Permits have been issued for a three-story apartment building at 919 S Aberdeen Street in Little Italy. MBZ Properties LLC is the filing owner, whose plans include two total units, as well as parking for two cars on an exterior parking slab. Currently, the site is occupied by a two-story detached frame residence with a smaller two-story frame enclosure in the rear.
Photos show foundation work progressing for an 11-story residential building and an adjacent six-story hotel that will occupy The Gateway, a larger development project in the Illinois Medical District.
Construction permits have been issued for a two-story frame church located at 3133 W Carroll Avenue in East Garfield Park. Filed under owner Burl Rose, the property had an ordinance passed in 2018 allowing for the previous zoning designation of M1-2 Limited Manufacturing Business Park District to convert to C1-2 Neighborhood Commercial District. The site is currently a vacant lot and once housed a single-story masonry industrial building.
Cladding is well underway for Rush University Medical Center’s new 10-story cancer and neuroscience center at 850 W Jackson Boulevard. The project is named after Joan and Paul Rubschlager, whose donation not only helped fund its construction, but is also the largest in the institution’s history.
