The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 2328 S Michigan Avenue in Motor Row. Sitting just south of the intersection with E 23rd Street, news broke on the proposal set to replace a closed Burger King earlier this year. The two mid-rise project is being led by local developer Fern Hill who is also working on Old Town Canvas.
The City of Chicago issued a tower crane permit for 171 N LaSalle Street in The Loop on Wednesday, July 3. That address is for Google’s renovation of the Thompson Center. As the general contractor, Clark Construction is the main benefactor of the permit. It allows them to do some serious heavy lifting as they continue knocking holes in the Helmut Jahn-designed office building.
Plans to redevelop the first floor of the former Maybelline headquarters at 5920 N Ridge Avenue in Edgewater are now moving forward. Sitting on the intersection with N Clark Street, the flat-iron style building currently holds residential units on its top floors. The project is being led by Ernst Development and Envoi Partners.
The updated plans for the mixed-use development at 170 N May Street and 175 N Racine Avenue, as well as a revision for the lot at 210 N Racine Avenue, will head to this month’s Plan Commission meeting. Located along the intersection with W Lake Street within the Fulton Market District, the multi-phase project was initially revealed over four years ago with a different design.
Further details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 6750 N Northwest Highway in Edison Park. Located near the intersection with N Oshkosh Avenue, these new details come as the project’s developer, Valdir Barion under Redstars Properties, has submitted a zoning application.
