The 13-story retail and office building known as 320 N Sangamon Street has officially opened just to the north of West Loop‘s Fulton Market corridor.

Permits Issued for 4177 W Belmont Avenue in Belmont Gardens

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building located at 4177 W Belmont Avenue in Belmont Gardens. Previously reported as 4179 W Belmont Avenue, the new development is being planned by Noah Properties. Plans include a total of 17 dwelling units, ranging from two-to three-bedroom residences. Plans will include landscape improvements, a basement, a rear courtyard, 11 indoor parking spaces, and six surface-level spaces. Residents will also have access to on-site bike parking.

Cladding Progresses at 1525 N Elston Avenue in West Town

Metal cladding is progressing rapidly at 1525 N Elston Avenue, a six-story topped-out office building in West Town. Prior to the current work, the site was occupied by a two and a half-story residential building and a three-story mixed-use building.

Permits Issued for new Walmart Academy at 8331 S Stewart Avenue in Chatham

Construction permits have been issued for a single-story Walmart Training Academy, located in the parking lot of an existing Walmart Supercenter. Situated at 8331 S Stewart Avenue in Catham, the new 15,495-square-foot facility is being developed by Walmart Real Estate Business Trust.

Exterior Work Wraps Up on Southbridge Phase One in Near South Side

Facade work is approaching completion at Southbridge Phase I, which comprises of two six-story buildings located at 2310 S State Street and 2344 S State Street in Chicago’s Near South Side. Developed by McCaffrey and The Community Builders, each building will offer ground-level retail and 103 mixed-income apartments on the upper floors. Amenities will comprise of a fitness center, a community dining space, and multiple outdoor terraces with city views. Parking will also offer surface-level spaces located in the rear.

Demolition Permits Issued for 3654-56 W Belmont Avenue in Avondale

Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story masonry building at 3654-56 W Belmont Avenue in Avondale. Wilmot Construction Inc. is the owner, whose plans involve a four-story mixed-use building with 2,100 square feet of ground-level retail and nine dwellings on the three upper floors. Residences will range from two- to three-bedrooms units, each of which will come with a balcony. Plans also include a rooftop deck and nine parking spaces integrated on the ground floor.

Fourth Building Rises in West Loop Collection by Greektown

Construction has reached the second floor of West Loop Collection’s fourth building. Situated at 210-240 S Green Street just outside Greektown, the 40-unit project has been planned by POGN Development. The plan involves five adjacent six-story condominium buildings, each housing four duplexes and four single-level residences. Prices range from $1 million for simplexes up to $2 million for duplex penthouses.

Construction Tops Out at 508 E Pershing Road in Bronzeville

Work has reached full height at 508 E Pershing Road, a four-story mixed-use building that recently topped out in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Planned by The Community Builders Inc, the development will house 3,500 square feet of ground-floor retail with 53 residential units on the upper floors. Under the Chicago Housing Authority, 36 of these units will be affordable, with the remaining 17 residences as market rate.

Permits Issued for 4735-37 S Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville

Two construction permits have been issued for a pair of two-story residential buildings located at 4735 and 4737 S Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville. Set to replace a vacant grass lot, the duo is being co-developed by GT Alternatives LLC and Kale Kakhiani. The new structures will come with three dwellings each, along with a basement, a two-car detached garage, and a separate ground-level parking spot.

Construction Permits Issued for 1024 W Altgeld Street in Lincoln Park

Permits were issued earlier this month for a three-story, multi-unit residential building, situated at 1024 W Altgeld Street near the center of Lincoln Park. The filing’s listed owner is 1024 Altgeld LLC, with plans for two total dwellings, a basement, rear open decks on the first floor, and a rooftop deck area with pergolas and a stair enclosure. Residents will also have access to a two-car detached garage with a separate rooftop deck.
