Caisson Permits Issued for Parking Garage at New West Town Warehouse and Distribution Center

A caisson permit has been issued for the parking garage portion of a major new warehouse and distribution center in West Town, just west of the river at 1104 N Elston Avenue. This 405-vehicle garage segment will be located at the southern end of the 11-acre property and will connect directly to the new Class A warehouse building via a skybridge. The project as a whole is being developed by Logistics Property Company and designed by Ware Malcomb.

YIMBY Tours 1229 W Concord Place within Lincoln Yards Master Plan

This weekend, Chicago YIMBY had the opportunity to tour the nearly complete 1229 W Concord Place, the first building of the broader Lincoln Yards plan. Developed by Sterling Bay, the plan calls for a 53-acre urban revamp of a former North Branch industrial corridor. This first installation will offer 320,000 square feet of Class A medical research labs geared towards biotechnology and bioscience tenant companies.

Plans Approved For 2222 S Michigan Avenue In Motor Row

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue in the Motor Row District. Located just south of the intersection with E Cermak Road, the development will renovate an existing slim building that runs the full-length of the block to S Wabash Avenue. The team behind the work is developer Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC who has tapped local design firm FitzGerald and RTM Engineering Consultants on the project which will be called Hudson Motor Row.

New Renderings Revealed For Soldier Field Revamp

Updated renderings and plans have been revealed for the redevelopment of Soldier Field in Museum Campus. Built in 1924, the famed structure is approaching its 100-year birthday on the cusp of another complete overhaul similar to the one it received in the early 2000s. The proposal has been in the works for a while now as the city tries to retain the Chicago Bears who are planning to move to Arlington Heights and create their own entertainment complex on the old racetrack grounds.
