Construction Permit Issued For 801 South Western Avenue In Tri-Taylor

The construction permit has been granted for a residential development in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood we told you about last month. The permit was issued on February 3 for 801 South Western Avenue, allowing 4Corners Real Estate to build a five-story, 36-unit building with 18 outdoor parking spaces and ground-floor retail. 4Corners will be their own general contractor, at an estimated construction cost of $500,000, according to the permit, which shows an application date of July 16, 2024.

Additional Funding Granted For Sunshine Community Center In Washington Park

Partial funding has been awarded for the Sunshine Community Center at 6020 S King Drive in Washington Park. Originally revealed in 2023 and approved by the city late last year, the center will replace a vacant lot on the southwest corner of Washington Park. The project is being led by Sunshine Gospel Ministries, which will be relocating from their current location nearby.

First Of Two Three-Flats Permitted At 4932 South Champlain In Grand Boulevard

A permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to begin construction on a three-story, three-unit masonry building at 4932 South Champlain Avenue in the Grand Boulevard Community Area. The permit came through for Park Royal Development on January 3, while permission to build next door at 4934 South Champlain is still pending in the Chicago Data Portal. Both permits show application dates of December 13, 2024.

Six Condos Hit The Market, 12 Still Under Construction, At Former Twisted Hippo Site in Irving Park

The first three-story, six-unit condominium building on the site of the former Twisted Hippo brewpub at Richmond Street and Montrose Avenue in Irving Park has hit the market. On the south end of the giant multi-space lot, 4337 North Richmond got construction started first, following a fire that destroyed the brewery, the gym it shared a building with, and a four-story apartment building next door.
