A construction permit has been issued for a new residential development situated at 3050 N Greenview Avenue in Lake View. The four-story building, complete with a basement level, will host a total of three dwelling units. This construction replaces a three-story masonry and frame structure, with the owner listed as Jason Krnski.
The Chicago City Council has approved the land sale for the mixed-use Bella Noir Wellness Hub at 601 E 47th Street in Bronzeville. Located on the southeast corner with S St Lawrence Avenue and a few blocks north of Washington Park, the project will replace a vacant lot adjacent to the upcoming proposal from Two Fish Crab Shack. The project is being developed by Bella Noir LLC and McLaurin Development who are working with SEEK Design + Architecture.
As evident from our last installment of ‘Lost Legends’ showcasing the Prentice Women’s Hospital, once-celebrated designs may reveal impracticalities as functional demands evolve. While not “legendary” in a traditional sense, the story of the construction and later removal of Lake Shore Drive’s zig-zag ‘S’ curve conveys a similar notion of a city adapting to changing infrastructural needs.
A renovation permit has been green lit for an existing restaurant at 3311 W Bryn Mawr Avenue in the North Park neighborhood. The site, currently owned by Bart Kabore Sidzanbnoma, will undergo significant improvements to modernize its interior space and enhance the functionality of its kitchen.
Final facade work is currently in progress at The Dylan, a 30-story mixed-use development located at 160 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. A collaborative effort between Sterling Bay and Ascentris, the 350-foot building will house 282 rental apartments above a retail section spanning 2,657 square feet.
