Construction Reaches Finish Line for Alcove Wicker Park Townhomes

Final touches are wrapping up for 12 connected townhomes at Vermillion Development‘s Alcove Wicker Park. This two-part development at 1648 W Division Street also includes a now-complete seven-story condominium for a total of 55 residences. Situated on a triangular lot bound by N Milwaukee Avenue and W Division Street in Wicker Park, the site is nestled behind other buildings to provide a secluded atmosphere despite having a central location.

Construction Begins at 1371 W Randolph Street in West Loop

Construction has officially commenced for a new seven-story parking structure at West Loop‘s 1371 W Randolph Street. The development, previously addressed as 1340 W Washington Boulevard, is a joint partnership between the Plumbers Local Union 130 and the Chicago Title & Trust Company. Located within the union’s campus, this new addition will provide the campus with parking 502 vehicles and 36 bikes. The building will come with additional retail space with a third-level terrace for outdoor dining.

Prairie Shores Resident Clubhouse Breaks Ground in Bronzeville

Yesterday, owners of the Prairie Shores apartments celebrated the groundbreaking of a new two-story resident clubhouse in Bronzeville. Spearheaded by Chicago-based firms Golub & Company and Farpoint Development alongside Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, the 17,510-square-foot structure will be nested between the 2901 and 2951 towers along Martin Luther King Drive. The five-tower Prairie Shores complex was purchased in 2019 and is undergoing a multi-phase renovation of its existing 1,675 residences, common spaces, and landscaping.

Permits Issued for 2141 W Belmont Avenue in West Lakeview

Construction permits were recently issued for a four-story residential building located at 2141 W Belmont Avenue in West Lakeview. Filed under the owner name 2141 W Belmont LLC, the project will house a total of three dwellings. In addition, the new development will feature a rooftop deck and stair enclosure, a rear full-height porch, and a basement. Parking will comprise of a three-car detached garage topped with a separate rooftop deck. The property was formerly occupied by a two-floor frame residence.

Cladding for 2755 N Milwaukee Avenue Nears Completion in Logan Square

Exterior work is approaching the finish line for a six-story mixed-use development situated at 2755 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. R.P. Fox & Associates is the developer, whose plans comprise of ground-level retail split into four segments, as well as 60 apartments on the upper five floors. Prior to development, the roughly half-acre property was occupied by a single-story bakery and a parking lot.

Permits Issued for 1315 W Cullerton Street in Pilsen

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building penned for 1315 W Cullerton Street in Pilsen. TM-1 Inc. is the listed owner, whose plans comprise of three total units, a rooftop deck and stair enclosure, a basement, a rear deck on the third and fourth floors, and a rear staircase stretching the full height of the building. The development will also come with a detached three-car garage with an additional rooftop deck. The new construction will replace a previously vacant lot.

Final Painting Kicks Off for Emmett Street Apartments in Logan Square

Exterior work is wrapping up for Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation‘s Emmett Street Apartments in Logan Square. Located at 2614 N Emmett Street, the seven-story mixed-use building is set to house 4,300 square feet of ground-floor retail, 100 affordable units, and office space for building management. Prior to development, the 0.9-acre property was occupied by a surface-level parking lot.

Permits Issued for 9230 S Brandon Avenue in South Chicago

Permits have been issued for a two-story residential building at 9230 S Brandon Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood. Claretian Associates Inc. is the owner behind the projects, whose plans indicate two units and a basement. The building was already partially complete, with the shell and core built in 2008 under a separate permit. This other permit had been filed by a separate owner and was originally meant to house just one unit.

Renovation Prep Work Progresses at Aon Center Plaza in New Eastside

Preliminary site work can be seen moving ahead for Aon Center‘s plaza renovation, situated at 200 E Randolph Street in New Eastside. The development will serve as revitalized public space and entryway to the 1,136-foot-tall Aon Center, which was originally designed by Edward Durell Stone and The Perkins and Will partnership and completed in 1974. Aon Center’s owner 601W Companies is overseeing the transformation, expected to cost roughly $6.5 million to complete.

Permits Issued for 2135 N Lakewood Avenue in Lincoln Park

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story, three-unit residential building set for 2135 N Lakewood Avenue in Lincoln Park. Barrett Homes is the listed owner, whose plans also consist of a basement, a rooftop deck, front balconies, and a full-height rear staircase. The new construction is set to replace a three-story post-modern style building.
