Facade Work Kicks Off for Clubhouse at Bronzeville’s Prairie Shores

Tan brickwork can now be seen along the exterior walls of a new two-story amenity clubhouse at 2937 S Martin Luther King Drive, part of Bronzeville‘s Prairie Shores apartment complex. The co-developers of this project, Golub & Company and Farpoint Development, purchased the five-building Prairie Shores assemblage for $180 million in 2019 in partnership with Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group.

City Council Approves Community Center In Auburn Gresham

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a new community center at 1219 W 87th Street in Auburn Gresham. Developed on a partially empty lot by the Progressive Beluah Pentecostal Church, the project dubbed The Progressive Manor Community Center will cater to local youth with aftercare programs and spotting facilities. The center is designed by Blue Line Architecture as an addition to an existing one-story building.

Initial renderings have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 1200 W Fulton Street in the West Loop. Located on the corner with N Racine Avenue, replacing a parking lot and three existing one-story industrial buildings, the new complex would deliver three structures designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture. Between the intersections of Bronzeville‘s Bowen Avenue and 42nd Street along Cottage Grove Avenue, facade work is approaching completion for new four-story mixed-use building at 4137 S Cottage Grove Avenue. This construction by DOM Properties Investment will yield 5,200 square feet of ground-floor retail, divided into two commercial units. Topping this retail component are 48 apartment dwellings, ranging from one- to two-bedroom residences.

Salesforce Tower Core Tops Out in River North

This week, the concrete core for Chicago’s Salesforce Tower reached its full height, marking a key milestone for the 60-story skyscraper rising at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza along the confluence of the Chicago River. As noted in a LinkedIn post by the general contractor Walsh Construction, the final height of the core stands 840 feet, falling in line with recent speculation of a 15-foot height bump. Furthermore, it appears that the final architectural height of the edifice will now be 850 feet above the river walk, once the superstructure is accounted for.
