Plan Commission Approves Residential Development At 438 W Saint James Place In Lincoln Park

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a new residential development at 438 W Saint James Place in Lincoln Park. Located just west of the intersection with N Lakeview Avenue near Lincoln Park and the lake, the new project will replace an existing stone-clad two-flat and hug the adjacent 13-story mid-rise. The unique proposal come to us from developer St. James Interest, LLC and is one of the two developments presented for Lincoln Park this month, bringing more density to the neighborhood which has seen plenty of population growth without much housing built.

Permits Issued for Rush Medical Center Expansion at 516 S Loomis Street

A full construction permit was issued this week for a new five-story medical building at 516 S Loomis Street in Little Italy. Named the Rush Specialty Hospital, the facility will further augment the Rush University Medical Campus, and will be located on the same block as the nearly completed Joan and Paul Rubschlager building. Between these two locations, there is a third site that will be able to support a future development with up to 855,000 square feet, nearly twice as much as the Roan and Paul Rubschlager building.

311 W Huron Preps for Imminent Groundbreaking in River North

Construction is set to begin in early June for a 16-story commercial building at 311 W Huron Street in River North. This retail and office building has been planned by North Wells Capital. This past February, the developer secured an $88 million lease with the anchor tenant Spins, who will occupy 48,000 square feet within the top three floors. The 226-foot-tall edifice will replace a former parking lot just west of the elevated CTA L tracks.
