Construction permits have been issued for a new educational construction project at 2351 W 110th Street in Morgan Park. The project will involve the construction of a one-story annex for a Chicago Public School (CPS), featuring six classrooms, restrooms, and offices. The project is owned by Chicago Public Schools and is situated in a vibrant neighborhood. The site was previously occupied by a vacant lot within the school’s property.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 1234 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market. Located along the busy corridor just east of the intersection with N Elizabeth Street, the upcoming high-rise has gone through various changes to its podium after presenting in front of the Committee on Design late last year. Now developers Azur Holdings and Golub & Company are moving forward with the latest iteration of the SCB-designed project, which was originally pitched as a hotel replacing the two small commercial structures on site.
The roof has now been installed for 801 W Belmont Avenue, a two-story commercial development that will occupy a prominent corner site in Lakeview East. The project is developed by Hubbard Street Group, which also owns several other properties along the busy commercial corridor.
Construction permits have been issued for a new residential development at 6556 S Minerva Avenue in Woodlawn. The planned building will be a four-story masonry structure with nine dwelling units. The owner, Kingston DTA Group LLC, will replace a vacant lot that previously occupied the site.
Updated details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 4500-4556 S State Street in Grand Boulevard. Located between W 45th Street and W 46th Street, the multi-phase project will replace a vacant lot just north of the Colman School CPS offices and on the former site of the Robert Taylor Homes. Being developed by the Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) itself, the proposal has gone through a handful of revisions prior to their zoning application for the Brook Architecture-designed buildings.
