In West Town, the development of a four-story, Class A logistics facility at 1237 W Division Street is advancing, with the facade nearing completion. The 1.2 million-square-foot project, developed by Logistics Property Company and designed by Ware Malcomb, occupies a site that was formerly an empty lot and a Peoples Gas facility.
Structural work has reached completion at the industrial development site at 1237 W Division Street in West Town. Developed by Logistics Property Company and designed by Ware Malcomb, the project is set to become Chicago’s first Class A, multi-story logistics facility close to downtown. Occupying what was formerly an empty lot and a Peoples Gas facility, the site is adjacent to N Elston Avenue and bordered by Metra UP-N and NW railway tracks.
A caisson permit has been issued for the parking garage portion of a major new warehouse and distribution center in West Town, just west of the river at 1104 N Elston Avenue. This 405-vehicle garage segment will be located at the southern end of the 11-acre property and will connect directly to the new Class A warehouse building via a skybridge. The project as a whole is being developed by Logistics Property Company and designed by Ware Malcomb.
Directly west of the Chicago River across from Goose Island, a tower crane permit has now been issued for a large-scale distribution center and warehouse. Owned and developed by Logistics Property Company (LPC), the 11-acre site was once home to a Peoples Gas production facility and required extensive rehabilitation following its previous use.
The Chicago City Council has approved a residential development at 1805 N Hamlin Avenue in Logan Square as well as an industrial development at 1237 W Division Street in West Town. Both projects were recently approved by the Plan Commission as well late last month, they will now be able to apply for construction permits and schedule a forthcoming groundbreaking. 1805 N Hamlin Avenue is led by developer Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA), while 1237 W Division Street is being proposed by logistics developer LPC Division I.
