Below-grade work is underway at Wicker Park Place in West Town

Work below grade is underway for a new residential development at 1162 North Milwaukee Avenue in West Town. Located on the northwest corner of Milwaukee and Haddon Avenue, the project, dubbed Wicker Park Place, will be addressed as 1504 West Haddon Avenue. Developed by Wicker Park Apartments, who’s also performing general contractor duties, the apartment building is a design by former Chicago firm Milbury Architects.

1313 West Wrightwood Avenue demolition

Demolition permit issued for 1313 West Wrightwood Avenue will lead to three new units in Lincoln Park

A demolition permit was issued by the City of Chicago on September 23 for a frame multi-unit residence at 1313 West Wrightwood Avenue in Lincoln Park. According to that permit, Precision Excavation will be the contractor in charge of tearing down the home. In its place, there is a pending permit for the construction of a four-story, three-unit building on the site.

New City Program Partially Funds New Affordable Housing Developments

Additional funding has been approved for two affordable housing projects as part of the city’s new bond program. This bond program was approved back in April, now the proposals at 1801 S Wabash Avenue and 4531 W Washington Boulevard will be the first to be financed by it. This first round of approvals will be contributing $20.5 million between the two.

2923 North Southport Avenue construction

Exterior work nearing completion at 2923 North Southport Avenue in Lake View

Exterior work is nearing completion for a new condominium building coming to 2923 North Southport Avenue in Lake View. The four-story, three-unit project got a new construction permit from the city on January 17. The property sits mid-block just south of the six-point Southport/Lincoln/Wellington intersection. The Pavlovcik Architecture-design calls for balconies at the front and back of the building plus a rooftop deck. An attached garage accessed from the rear alley will have parking for three vehicles, and will be joined on the ground level by commercial space at the front, along Southport Avenue. An elevator is also included in the plans. McKinney Group is both the developer and the general contractor.
