Updated Details Revealed For 800 W Lake Street In Fulton Market

Updated details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 800 W Lake Street in Fulton Market. Located on the corner with N Halsted Street at the entrance of the neighborhood, the multi-plot site currently sits vacant as its previous commercial buildings were demolished for earlier iterations of the project. Now the development team of Ascend Real Estate and Intercontinental Real Estate Group have returned with a redesigned structure by GREC Architects.

The Arts Lawn Nears Completion in Washington Park

The Arts Lawn is an upcoming park project by Arts + Public Life (APL) aiming to provide a space for new events and gathering in the Washington Park neighborhood. The one-acre property, which was formerly an empty grass lot, is now in the final stages of completion.

Permit Issued for 3710 N Kenmore Avenue in Wrigleyville

A permit has been issued for the upcoming residential project at 3710 N Kenmore Avenue in Wrigleyville, located just north of the intersection with W Waveland Avenue. The project, led by Aaron Friedman, will replace the existing two-story house, built in 1886, with a multi-unit residential building.

Renovated Belden-Stratford Opens to Residents in Lincoln Park

The Belden-Stratford, a historic Beaux-Arts building overlooking Chicago’s Lincoln Park Conservatory, has opened its doors to residents following a restoration and complete renovation. Built in 1923, the building initially functioned as a residential hotel before fully transitioning to rental apartments.

Landmark Tax Incentives Approved For Restaurant Redevelopment In River North

Tax incentives have been approved by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks for the redevelopment of the LaSalle Street Cable Car Powerhouse at 500 N LaSalle Drive in River North. Located on the northwest corner with W Illinois Street adjacent to the recently completed 448 N LaSalle office building, the structure will once again become a restaurant from an overseas operator. London-based Hawksmoor will convert the space into a new steakhouse with an undisclosed designer.

18th & Peoria Framework Plan Approved By Plan Commission

The first approval has been granted for the 18th & Peoria framework plan in Pilsen by the Chicago Plan Commission. Previously announced in March of this year, the 6.3-arce site has belonged to the city since 2022 after some failed attempts to be redeveloped. Now the city and the Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) are leading the masterplan efforts designed by AECOM with local firms UrbanWorks and Koo Architecture.

Demolition Completes for Harper Court Phase 2 in Hyde Park

Demolition has cleared the way for the new Harper Court Phase 2 at 5209 S Harper Avenue in Hyde Park, developed by The University of Chicago in partnership with Trammell Crow and Beacon Capital Partners. The 13-story mixed-use construction will comprise of retail and a new medical research office facility with nearly 300,000 square feet of lab space, one-sixth of which will be occupied by The University of Chicago. The project site is situated just west of the railroad tracks, with E 52nd Street to the north, S Lake Park Avenue to the east, E 53rd Street to the south, and S Harper Avenue to the west.

An initial foundation and basement permit has been issued for a new commercial development located at 1323 S Ashland Avenue in Little Italy. The project will include a six-story commercial building with office space, retail, and a rooftop garden, occupying 48,000 square feet in total. The site is owned under development by 4S Bay Partners, having previously been occupied by the St. Stephenson Missionary Baptist Church. According to an article by Block Club Chicago, the office spaces will be oriented towards community service and nonprofit organizations.

Obama Presidential Center Continues Ascent in Jackson Park

Work is progressing on the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park, with the main tower now reaching around one-third of its final height. The Obama Foundation is overseeing the development of this complex, set to include three public buildings: a museum, a forum building, and a new library branch.
