Bricks and windows fill the façade at 855 West Lill Avenue in Lincoln Park, where General Masonry of Norridge, IL is delivering three new condominium units to this North Side Neighborhood.
Work on the project got started in May with the demolition of a greystone at the same address, then got to work immediately on the new building. The new construction permit was issued March 19, with General Masonry handling general contractor duties in addition to being the developer.
The three-story with basement structure boasts inset balconies on the second and third floors at the front of the building, facing west, plus a private rooftop deck for the third-floor unit accessed from the rear metal stairway that connects all three levels. A product of 360 Design Studio, plans also call for a four-car garage with a rooftop deck at the rear of the property. That structure has been bricked up as well, as seen in the photo, with the rooftop work still to come.
Residents of 855 West Lill will have access to public transportation by walking about two blocks northeast to catch the Route 8 bus at Halsted and Wrightwood, or going about three blocks south for Routes 37 and 74 at Fullerton and Lincoln. The Fullerton Red/Brown/Purple Line platform is just under half a mile southwest.

I really like that two tone brick work.
Admittedly, this is a very handsome building. It’s still enraging that a greystone 3-flat demo was required to erect it
Finally a decent building…if we are going to be tearing down housing stock, at least this was a good replacement…but you tore that down?!?
